Dalian quartz‑sand color sorter is a core sorting device adopting photoelectric identification technology to accurately remove discolored particles and impurities from quartz sand. Its installation and commissioning quality directly determine subsequent sorting accuracy, operating efficiency and service life. Multiple pre‑conditions shall be satisfied for on‑site installation and commissioning, as detailed below:
First, site foundation requirements. A single Dalian quartz‑sand color sorter weighs 5‑15 tons. The installation site must meet strict load‑bearing and flatness requirements and comply with the manufacturer’s foundation drawings. The ground shall be poured with concrete of minimum C30 strength. Position deviation of embedded or pre‑reserved bolt holes shall be controlled within ±2 mm. Calculated foundation bearing capacity shall satisfy equipment load requirements to prevent host tilting and unstable feeding. Sufficient working space shall be reserved: the host feed hopper shall connect in advance to the outlet of the front‑end vibrating feeder. Maintenance access of no less than 1.2 m shall be kept around for servicing air valves, photoelectric lenses and other components. Since quartz‑sand sorting generates dust easily, a closed or semi‑closed dust‑proof shed together with dust removal facilities shall be built. This prevents dust pollution and fine‑sand adhesion on photoelectric lenses that would impair detection precision.
Second, supporting utility conditions. For the electrical system, the color sorter requires stable voltage. A dedicated power circuit with matched rated power is required, with voltage fluctuation limited within ±5%. The host and electric control cabinet shall be earthed in compliance with specifications; earthing resistance shall not exceed 4 Ω. Anti‑static devices shall be equipped to avoid static interference with the photoelectric sensing system. As the core power for impurity rejection, the air supply system shall be pre‑commissioned to deliver high‑pressure, oil‑free and dry compressed air at a stable pressure of 0.5‑0.7 MPa. No impurities or moisture shall remain inside pipelines to prevent air‑valve blockage and rejection failure. Certain high‑end models require circulating cooling water with clean water quality and stable pressure of 0.2‑0.4 MPa to cool cameras and core circuit boards. In addition, finished‑product silos and reject collection devices at discharge ends shall be connected beforehand to ensure smooth material flow and avoid material accumulation during commissioning.
Third, equipment and technical preparation. Before equipment arrival, completeness of the whole unit shall be checked: precision parts including host body, electric control cabinet, air‑valve assembly and photoelectric lenses shall be free of transport impact damage. Lenses shall be well sealed against contamination. The manufacturer shall provide complete technical documents such as installation manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, calibration reports and wearing‑parts lists, which shall be filed by the customer for reference during commissioning. Spare wearing‑parts including air filter elements, sealing gaskets and pipe connectors shall be prepared for emergency replacement during commissioning.
Fourth, personnel and safety conditions. The customer shall assign qualified mechanical‑installation and electrical‑wiring personnel familiar with on‑site construction codes. The equipment manufacturer shall send experienced technical engineers to carry out on‑site calibration and technical guidance. Pre‑commissioning safety training shall be conducted covering electric safety, high‑pressure air source and working‑at‑height rules. Warning signs shall be placed around equipment to keep unauthorized personnel away and secure installation and commissioning.
In summary, pre‑conditions for on‑site installation and commissioning of Dalian quartz‑sand color sorter cover site, utilities, equipment and personnel. Completion of these pre‑requisites guarantees qualified sorting accuracy and long‑term stable operation. Missing any condition may extend commissioning duration or result in unsatisfactory sorting performance.
