In terms of structural design, fluorite color sorters are built around non-contact separation, without complicated wearable moving components. They mainly consist of feeding system, separation chamber, photoelectric detection module, air jet rejection system and electrical control unit. Such modular design enables standardized and lightweight maintenance. Operators can master basic maintenance points after simple training of 1 to 2 days without professional disassembly skills.

Daily cleaning is the foundation for maintaining sorting accuracy and also a simple maintenance procedure, which only takes 10 to 15 minutes after each shift. Three key areas need cleaning: first, feeding chutes. Raw fluorite ore contains high fine powder content. Caked residual mineral powder will disrupt feeding uniformity on the next day, which can be cleared by soft brushes or low-pressure compressed air. Second, photoelectric detection glass panels on both sides of the separation chamber. As the "window" for color identification, panels stained with mineral powder or water stains will cause recognition errors. Wipe them gently with dust-free soft cloth dipped in a small amount of anhydrous ethanol; scratching the panels is prohibited. Third, outlets of air nozzles. Long-term operation may lead to blockage by mineral powder. Clean nozzle holes with thin brushes to guarantee stable air jet flow.

Periodic maintenance is conducted weekly or monthly with simple operations. Weekly inspection of the compressed air filter is required. Oil and water impurities in compressed air will cause uneven jet force. Dismantle the housing to blow and clean the filter element; replace worn elements directly at low spare part cost. The photoelectric system shall be calibrated monthly. Use standard fluorite samples and waste rock samples supplied by the manufacturer to complete color calibration following on-screen prompts, requiring no professional testing instruments. Dust inside the electrical cabinet shall be blown off with low-pressure compressed air every month to ensure ventilation and heat dissipation and prevent circuit failures.

Compared with traditional mineral processing equipment, another maintenance advantage of fluorite color sorters lies in fewer complicated vulnerable parts. Unlike ball mill liners and jig screen plates that require frequent replacement, only a small number of parts such as air nozzles and sealing rings are consumables for color sorters. Replacement requires no complete machine disassembly: simply remove old parts and install new ones within 5 minutes. Nevertheless, simple maintenance still has specifications: never wipe glass panels with hard objects; control compressed air pressure within 0.4–0.6 MPa, as excessive pressure damages components and insufficient pressure impairs separation performance; avoid feeding oversized ore exceeding the limit to prevent material jamming and damage to the feeding system.

In general, cleaning and maintenance of fluorite color sorters are low-difficulty and cost-effective. Routine basic cleaning and regular standardized inspections can sustain long-term sorting accuracy and operational stability, greatly cutting operation and maintenance costs and downtime of concentrators. They fully satisfy daily management requirements for fluorite mining enterprises pursuing easy equipment management.
